Winnipeg MP MaryAnn Mihychuk, who's also a cabinet minister in the Trudeau government, says she couldn't be happier.

Mihychuk was in western Manitoba this past week.

It was her first official duties in Manitoba since being named Minister of Employment, Workforce and Labour.

One of her stops was to turn sod for a project at Brandon's Airport.

Mihychuk is thrilled to be a part of the cabinet and says she looks forward to what she calls a time of huge optimism.
