The search continues for more doctors to work in the Prairie Mountain Health Region.

It seems to be an ongoing process and one health officials says just never ends. “We always have a community that needs a doctor and we do our best through various resources to hire and retain doctor” said Michelle McKay director of Medical Service Administration.

She admits they have had more luck in attracting Manitoba-trained doctors.

'I wouldn't say all communities are happy because there is a need to fill anywhere from 10 to 15 vacancies across the region.”

McKay says Brandon and Dauphin and their needs are harder to gauge because when doctors move in they get busy and there is always a need for more doctors.
