Killarney students performed their Ann Frank shadow play in the Boissevain School this past Friday.

The play was a collaboration between the High School Band and Grade 3 students from Killarney Collegiate Institute.

The two classes teamed up to compose music and a script for the play while under the guidance of their instructor, Megan Lawson.

“We started back in September with just an idea to collaborate,” Lawson commented. “It took about eight months of hard work with the Grade Three’s to make it all come together.”

The play utilizes lights, perspective and shadows to convey their message while supported by the high school band as well as narration from the third-grade students.

“We got to take a step back and let them do all the work. They did all the composing, and they had all the ideas for the shadow screen.” Lawson added. “It was just great to see them, and obviously, I am very proud.”
