Sunday marks 15 years since the 9/11 attacks happened at the World Trade Center in New York City.

To commemorate this tragic day, a ceremony will be held at the 9/11 Memorial Site at the International Peace Garden south of Boissevain.

CEO Gary Enns explains what they have planned.

"What we're doing is our usual memorial but we're stepping it up a little bit," he said. "We will have a pipe band as well as an honour guard that will be presenting at this event. We will have representation from both the US and Canada, from North Dakota State and the Manitoba governments, who will be laying wreaths at the site."

Enns says the ceremony will start at 11am sharp.

Gate admission to the International Peace Garden will be free throughout the day. The café will also be open for serving.
