The Boissevain Palliative Care group held its Hike for hospice on Friday.
The walk is held every year to raise funds for the group and awareness for what the Palliative Care group does for the community and its residents.

Elaine Wintle is the group's Chairperson and she is pleased with the continued support for the organization and its volunteers.

“Our group provides support for families with someone in palliative care and our goal is to make a person's end of life journey as paid free and comfortable as possible.”

Wintle appreciates the support of volunteers but adds they could use some new and younger people on the committee. “We need some more younger and vibrant workers. The community is very supportive but we need volunteers to keep the group going into the future” said Wintle.

As for the future Wintle says the group plans to make some cosmetic upgrades to the palliative care room at the hospital. She says it has basically been the same for the past 13 years.
