The final number has been released following Co-op’s Fuel Good Day in mid September.

Co-ops including Boundary Co-op participated in the fund raising program that saw the Co-ops donating a certain amount of every litre of gasoline sold to selected charities in the area.

Shirley Bell is H-R and Marketing Coordinator with Boundary Co-op. “We hosted Fuel Good Day on September 18th and had a great response. If you came and filled up your vehicle at our Boissevain or Deloraine gas bar locations we donated six cents of every litre of gas purchased.

The charities selected were the breakfast program at Boissevain School and the Deloraine-Winchester Theatre renovation project.

“In total were are excited to announced we raised $3,440 with $555 going to the charity in Deloraine and the rest will go to Boissevain School. The school also held a fund raising hot dog lunch and raised $800 and that is part of the total.”

Bell says giving back to the community is a big part of the Co-op’s mandate. We are committed to our communities and give back $45,000 every year and it’s a big part of our business operation.
