The high cost of meat is putting pressure on food banks.

Peter Dyck is the President of the Food Pantry in Boissevain. He says they service about 30 clients every month.

Dyck says their shelves are usually pretty full thanks to the Halloween food drive each year by students at Boissevain School. However he says the high price of meat is impacting their bottom line and is something board members have to consider for the future.

Dyck isn't sure how the Food Pantry will move forward but he says they will have to make a decision by this fall.

The Food Pantry is open every second Friday of the month.
