The deep freeze will continue across southern Manitoba this weekend, as an arctic ridge of high pressure builds into Saskatchewan.

Temperatures of minus 27 to minus 32 early Saturday morning combined with wind speeds of 15 to 25 km/h are producing extreme wind chills of minus 40 to minus 45 over much of southern Manitoba, with the coldest readings over southwest Manitoba.

The wind chill is expected to be less of a factor this afternoon, however extreme wind chill values will likely redevelop in many areas Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The cold weather will continue into Monday, with conditions expected to warm up a bit on Tuesday.
