Antique enthusiasts from all over Canada and the United States will gather in Austin Sunday afternoon to break a Guiness world record.

Minto farmer, Roger Graham will be participating in the Harvesting Hope event, which will attempt to break the previous record of the 111 machines threshing simultaneously.

Graham shared how many thrashing machines are at the site already.

"Roughly there is about 150 thrashing machines here right now.  I brought a 1912 wooden thrashing machine and I brought a 1923 Rumely 2040 tractor to drive it.  It is starting to come together, it is looking very good."

Graham noted it didn't take a lot to get his old thrashing machine fixed up and running again for the event.

He expects to see people there from across Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Ontario, North Dakota and Minnesota.

"It's just been great," stated Graham when asked about the experience.  "It's been a lot of fun and the people are good.  They are expecting 15,000 people for this thing and it's going to be pretty crazy."

The group of thrashing machines will be trying to break the current record of 111 held in Ontario.  The antiques will need to run for the set 15 minute time limit in order to break the record.
