The EMC Conference wraps up its 2016 convention at the Steinbach Bible College.

EMC Moderator Abe Bergen says between 300 and 400 people came from as far as southern Ontario and Northern B.C. for the conference, alongside approximately 800 local Manitobans. He says it was a full weekend.

"We began Thursday evening with a general board meeting, ministerial meeting on Friday, and then the inspirational sessions started on Friday evening, which continues through Saturday evening and Sunday morning. Saturday afternoon we had our conference council meeting, so that is our semi-annual business meetings of the conference."

Bergen says one of his favourite aspects of the whole convention weekend were the inspiration sessions, which were led by local pastors Garry Koop, Darryl Klassen, and Dylan Barkman. He notes they spoke about different aspects of their core vision statement which brings the whole conference together.

"We do the business of the conference for one, but it gives us an opportunity to connect and build relationships, and out of those relationships comes a shared sense of priority, a shared sense of mission, and that is critically important for us."
