If you're waiting for the rain, you might be waiting for awhile.  That from Environment Canada Meteorologist Natalie Hasell.   Aside from some drizzle and fog, she says no major precipitation events are in sight.

"I don't think we're really going to see anything significant or substantial," says Hasell. "Looking at radar, most of the precipitation is in, more or less, the southwest corner of the province."

Hasell also adds, it could be a while before we do see any solid chance of rain.

"A ridge of high pressure will establish itself over the southern part of the province," adds Hasell. "That means just mainly sunny skies and clear skies at night.  So we're not looking at a whole lot of precipitation in the next week anywhere in southern Manitoba."

The dry and windy weather has led a number of municipalities across Southern Manitoba to institute burning bans in an effort to keep the risk of grass fires lower but the conditions are ideal for such events to happen.
