Discipleship School Coming To Rock Lake

Coming this fall to southern Manitoba is School of the Kingdom; a 6 month discipleship school located at Rock Lake Ministries Camp.

The school which begins September 12th is being directed by Ty and Jenny Franz of Winkler.

Ty Franz shared how the school got started.

"School of the Kingdom was birthed out of a heart and a vision basically to see just more for people in this region, just wanting to see people walking in the fullness of the reality in what we are called to walk in and what we can walk in as sons and daughters of Jesus Christ. Another place it comes out of is the Lord's prayer and Jesus just saying pray that my kingdom come and my will would be done on earth. We just want to be an extension of that and just learn how to bring God's kingdom to earth."

Franz noted the program isn't for any specific age group; however, most of the applicants are between the ages of 17 and 25. He stated the school will need a lot of prayer support; adding they also need around $50,000 in finances to help cover costs. He also talked about the school's location and why Rock Lake was chosen.

"Basically Rock Lake Ministries just offered us to use their buildings and to host the school for us," said Franz. "That was miracle for School of the Kingdom as well. It is a neat location in the fact that it is an hour west (away) from any major city. It's really secluded so it's an awesome opportunity just to have four total months of you and Jesus with no distractions."

The school will include three stages; a lecture phase to become more intimate with Jesus, an outreach phase spent ministering in a North American city and a debrief to prepare students to return home.

Meanwhile, the school held it's Becoming Love Conference in Winkler May 1st and 2nd.

Franz gave his impressions on Becoming Love.

Franz said they are excited for what's coming up at the school; however he explained kingdom living starts today. He encourages you no matter who you are, to seek the Lord, fall in love with Jesus and begin kingdom living right now.
