People in Deloraine are still waiting for their water plant to come on line.

The project has been years in the planning and now construction has been dragging on into the winter of 2017. “We are for sure at least six month behind schedule” said Reeve of Deloraine-Winchester Gord Weidenhamer.

He added they've had trouble getting the right equipment installed and getting everything to work properly.

“The test of the lines is the final stage and we are hoping to have water flowing out of the plant by mid February.”

The project cost $6.9 million and was costed shared between the local municipality, the province and the federal government.
