Rural communities and non-profit organizations are being reminded to submit their Partner 4 Growth applications by Monday.

Administrator Anne Ransom explains the cost-share program is designed to strengthen and diversify economic activity in rural regions based on their strategic advantages. "The program will provide cost-shared to rural municipalities, communities and non-profit organizations working in partnership to identify strategic opportunities, investigate the feasibility of those opportunities and implement activities to pursue the opportunities."

She goes on to say that each project is eligible for up to $15,000 for the implementation of a strategic initiative or project, and up to $8,000 is available for the investigation of the feasibility of a certain economic development opportunity.

Ransom adds a great example of these dollars at work is a project that was approved last year in Arborg-Bifrost.

She notes interest in the Partner 4 Growth has been increasing over the years, adding this is a clear indicator that they've hit the mark in offering funding that's required by rural municipalities and non-profits. "The uptake has been really really positive."
