A lot of construction continues to take place in and around Brandon.

Permit numbers released by the City of Brandon show September was a productive month, with 100 permits issued for projects worth about $15 million, nearly double the value recorded in September of 2015.

 

Significant projects receiving permits last month were the renovation of space at the Brandon Shoppers Mall into a new Sobeys store with a value of $5.5 million and the addition of a school gym at Green Acres School worth $2.85 million.

 

So far in 2016, 692 permits have been issued for construction projects worth $94.3 million.
