Over 30 artists from Killarney and area will be displaying their work at the Killarney Community Artists’ Art Show, next Sunday on September 25th, from 2-4pm.

Judy Danard (day-nard) is the coordinator of the event, and a member of the Killarney – Turtle Mountain Arts Council.  She says this art show is only a sampling of the incredible talent that’s in the community and they are hoping there will be many more shows in the future.

Danard says they have received a great response from the artists of the area.  They have yet to work out the details for the Sunday afternoon show but are very excited to be able to share the many talents to the public. As well, this is a unique way for the local artists to get to know each other and share ideas.

The Killarney-Turtle Mountain Arts Council has been fund-raising for over a year to renovate and refurbish the 1915 Demonstration House at the Killarney Ag Grounds.  Judy and her husband, Barry, are both artists.  Judy shares that they are excited to see the Arts Centre come to life as it will eventually be the location for future art shows, display opportunities and workshops for local artists.

She adds that the outside of the house has now received its coat of white paint and soon their attention will be on the interior.

The September 25th Art Show at the Grind Café will be only the beginning for the Arts Council to share the local talent.  The Wine-Tasting Art Auction is much anticipated after its huge success last fall at the Blarney Stone.  It will be held in just a few weeks, on October 6th.
