For people unable to make it to their respected voting locations for the April 19th, Provincial Election, Elections Manitoba has you covered with it's advanced voting.

"During a Provincial Election there are eight days of Advanced Voting," said Elections Manitoba's Manager of Communications and Public Information Alison Mitchell. "Advance voting begins on Saturday April 9th, and runs to Saturday April 16th. Manitoban's can vote anywhere. If they are eligible to vote in the Provincial Election they can vote at anyone of almost 300 Advanced Voting locations in the Province."

Mitchell went on to say that you don't need a reason to vote in advance, but the option is there for everyone.

In order to vote in advance you are not required to sign up, but do need to have some form of identification with you.

"Government issued photo I.D. is the easiest, because you only need that one piece," said Mitchell. "If you don't have that, you can bring two other pieces of I.D. with your name. If neither of those have your residential address, then you just have to sign a declaration of address. The great thing about it is that you don't have to plan ahead, or sign up. You can just drop in when ever it's convenient."

According to Mitchell, having advance voting is a good way to get more people out to vote. It gives voters the opportunity to vote at their leisure, instead of during the one day voting period.

Voting locations can be found on the Elections Manitoba website.
