Manitoba Education and Training has appointed two new members to the Assiniboine Community College board of governors in Brandon.

Dale McKay, of Brandon, has been appointed to the board as vice-chair. He is the general manager of Shur-Gro Farm Services Limited, where he has worked in various roles since 1986. McKay has developed governance experience by serving on various boards including as chair of the Brandon Chamber of Commerce Agriculture Committee.

Tulsa Labonté, of Morden, has been appointed to the board as a student member.  She is a business administration student at Assiniboine Community College and was recently elected president of the students’ association.

The Assiniboine Community College board of governors consists of 10 to 12 members including one student representative and one employee of the college. The board is responsible for establishing policy, managing resources, developing the college’s long-range vision and communicating with groups the college serves.
