The 81st Boissevain and Area 4-H Rally took place on Friday.

Home and Hobby, Horse and Beef members participated in the day long program.

Cathy Day with Manitoba Agriculture has a long history with 4-H and said the program remains important to communities in the southwest.

"There is obviously a continued commitment to the Boissevain 4-H Rally and much much applause goes out to the rally planning committee which is a group of volunteers. There are certainly Manitoba Agriculture staff that are supporting the event but rally day is really outside the 4H program in terms of project completion.  This is like an extra curricular activity that there is still lots of interest in."

Day noted numbers went up this year. She added some clubs folded but other new ones are starting like the Killarney Home-Ec club that is expected to be going again next year.
