The Winnipeg Jets five-game losing skid came to an end Sunday at MTS Centre.

Connor Hellebuyck made 42 saves as the Jets defeated the Nashville Predators 3-0.

"Real good goaltending tonight and lots of effort," said Winnipeg head coach Paul Maurice. "27 blocked shots. I don’t think again things were smooth or easy at times with the puck, but usually a real hard effort and real good goaltending you’re gonna give yourself a chance. We’ve struggled here for five games and you know it’s there, so you got contributions from everyone that has a chance to play. I think you need two or three guys to be special and when your goaltender’s one of them, Blake Wheeler plus-three, didn’t come off the ice a whole lot here tonight. That’s important, and great leadership."

Hellebuyck, who stopped 13 shots while the Jets were shorthanded, earned his second shutout of the season.

Drew Stafford scored his first of the season in the second period.

Mark Scheifele and Adam Lowry added empty net goals in the final minute of regulation.

Jacob Trouba chipped in with a pair of assists.

The Jets (10-12-2) continue their three-game homestand Tuesday against New Jersey.
