Former Jets captain Andrew Ladd, who was dealt to the Chicago Blackhawks a couple of days before the NHL trade deadline last month, scored in his return to MTS Centre as the defending Stanley Cup champions blanked Winnipeg 4-0 Friday night.

Ladd played 429 games with the Winnipeg/Atlanta franchise.

Marian Hossa, Thomas Fleischmann and Patrick Kane with his 39th of the season also scored for Chicago.

Scott Darling stopped 28 shots in recording the shutout.

"We did some good things,” said Winnipeg defenseman Tyler Myers. “We were playing some good hockey early in the game. You got to put the puck in the net to win hockey games, and we just couldn't solve them tonight. Got behind late in the second (period), and those two in the third hurt us for sure."

The Jets (29-37-5) continue to struggle at MTS Centre.

Winnipeg has just four wins in their last 18 home games.

The Jets four-game homestand continues Sunday (2 p.m.) against the Anaheim Ducks.
