Eric Johnson of Breezy Bend won the Manitoba Mid Amateur golf championship at his home course and Bri-ann Tokariwski of Elmhurst captured the Provincial Ladies Amateur title for the third time.

Johnson fired a final round 73 Wednesday and despite playing the final three holes in four over par, edged clubmate Bobby Wiebe by a shot.

"Today was one of the best I've ever hit it," said Johnson who finished with a 54-hole total of even par 216. "I never missed a shot from one to 15 and then on 16 is when I got really nervous. Everyone was around. Then it becomes real and all of a sudden you start squeezing the club and going really fast. I kept saying slow down, slow down but I knew I was still going too fast. Doesn't matter...I won."

Travis Fifi of Shilo was 77 Wednesday and finished in a tie for seventh place at 224.

Brent Lamb of Clear Lake was 92 and finished at 254 while Kevin Lamb of Clear Lake was 94 and finished at 264.

Tokariwski fired a final round two over par 75 at Breezy Bend and won the Women's Amateur Championship by four shots over Camryn Roadley of Glendale.

"It means absolutely everything to me at this point," said Tokariwski who also won the Women's Amateur in 2012 at Meadows and in 2013 at Minnewasta. "It's absolutely awesome."

Tokariwski finished with a 54-hole total of seven over par 226.

Bobby Uhl of Shilo was 88 today and finished tied for 14th at 249.
