The Winnipeg Jets are now the answer to an NHL trivia question.

Who did the Vegas Golden Knights beat to set the record for most wins by a team in its inaugural season?

David Perron scored 3:57 of overtime to lift Vegas past Winnipeg 3-2 Thursday night at Bell MTS Place.

The Golden Knights earned their 34th win of the season which is one more than the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and the Florida Panthers recorded in 1993-94.

Reilly Smith and Erik Haula also scored for Vegas.

Joel Armia and Kyle Connor replied for the Jets who saw their seven-game home winning streak come to an end.

Connor's 17th of the season with 2:36 remaining in the third period tied the game at 2-2.

"You're never happy losing," said Winnipeg forward Matt Hendricks. "We had a lot of mental fortitude the way we battled back. Everybody played hard tonight including their team. It was a really good hockey game. It was fun to play in. The atmosphere was great. Our fans were great. That's as close to playoff hockey as you can get in my opinion."

The Golden Knights have been outstanding after regulation.

Vegas has won nine of their 34 games in either overtime or a shootout.

The Jets (30-13-9) will play their third of a 10-game homestand Saturday night against the Colorado Avalanche.
