Jakob Silfverberg scored late in overtime to lift the Anaheim Ducks past the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 Sunday afternoon at MTS Centre.

Silfverberg fired his own rebound over Winnipeg netminder Michael Hutchinson with 58.6 seconds remaining in the extra session.

Paul Postma and Blake Wheeler replied for the Jets.

Postma scored his first goal since December 11th, 2014 while Wheeler ended a 10-game scoreless drought.

“As the game went on we were committed to getting harder as the game got harder,” said Wheeler. “I think Anaheim showed us last year the ability to do that. They kept getting hard as the game went on. That’s what it takes to win. In these close games against heavy opponents, you got to show that willingness to move as the game moves and get better as the game gets better. I think we did a better job of being patient, and committed to that today.”

Ryan Kesler and Jamie McGinn scored in regulation for the Ducks.

Winnipeg has now lost 15 of its last 19 home games.

The Jets (29-37-5) host the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday and the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday.
