Michal Neuvirth stopped 28 shots as the Philadelphia Flyers shutdown the Winnipeg Jets 3-0 at MTS Centre Saturday night.

Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds scored power play goals for the Flyers and Matt Read added an empty net goal with 1:35 left in the third period.

“That power play (Philadelphia) has been run near the top of the league for years, they have a real tough stretch down low," said Jets head coach Paul Maurice. "The entire game, that’s where they were good in their game, they were quick with the puck, quick and they jumped on it. We couldn’t get it clear for the life of us if we needed it.”

“Their power play was good, after that they got 11 even strength shots. So, our penalty kill couldn’t hold them, our power play couldn’t score, and then there wasn’t a whole lot to be had for either team. We may have had the better of the chances but it wasn’t good enough.”

Winnipeg goaltender Ondrej Pavelec faced 21 shots.

The Jets (8-5-2) begin a four-game Central Division road trip Tuesday when they meet the Minnesota Wild in St. Paul.
