The Winnipeg Jets recorded their 30th win of the season Tuesday night.

Patrik Laine, Kyle Connor and Bryan Little did the goal scoring as Winnipeg began a 10-game homestand with a 3-1 victory the Tampa Bay Lightning at Bell MTS Place.

“I thought our performance was good. I thought it held,” said Jets head coach Paul Maurice. “Five minutes there at the end of the first we spent a lot of time in our end but other than that for the first game back after the break it was good. It was a pretty simple game.”

Jets captain Blake Wheeler had a pair of assists and now has 42 on the season which is third best in the National Hockey League.

Matthew Peca had the lone goal for the Lightning who lead the league with 71 points.

Winnipeg netminder Michael Hutchinson made 23 saves in his first start in the NHL this season.

The Jets (30-13-8) host the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday.
