The 2016 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft was held Thursday in Calgary.

Forward Tristen Robins of Brandon and defenseman Jordan Chudley of Souris were selected in round four.

Robins went to the Regina Pats and Chudley to the Kootenay Ice.

Forward Callum Fortin of Souris was selected in round five by the Edmonton Oil Kings.

The first Manitoban selected was goaltender Trent Minor of Brandon who went in round one (20th overall) to the Vancouver Giants.

Brandon had the 21st selection in round one.

The Wheat Kings dealt that pick along with their third and sixth round selections to Moose Jaw for the Warriors first round pick.

Brandon took defenseman Braden Schneider of Prince Albert with the 12th overall selection.

The Wheat Kings selected a total of 11 players.

The Wheat Kings also took left-winger Ben McCartney of MacDonald in round two, right-winger Kyle Bettens of Winnipeg in the fourth round, goaltender Ethan Kruger of Sherwood Park in round five, defenseman Neithan Salame of Edmonton in round seven, left-winger Jonny Hooker of Winnipeg in round eight, left-winger Carter Cockburn of Swan River in round nine, defenseman Timber Lewis of Terrace, B.C. in round 10, defenseman Justin MacDonald of St. Albert in round 11, forward Dylan Halliday of Brandon in round 12 and forward Kolton Shindle of Carman in round 13.

The Kootenay Ice selected forward Peyton Krebs of Okotoks, Alberta first overall.
