The Boissevain Border Kings, Killarney Shamrocks, Gladstone Lakers, Cartwright Clippers and MacGregor Wild were winners in the Tiger Hills Hockey League Saturday night. Kirklan Lycar had three goals and two assists as the Border Kings defeated Hartney10-2. Logan Mantell and Tyler Bertholet replied for the Blues. The Shamrocks scored six second period goals en route to an 8-4 victory over Deloraine. Brett Opperman had two goals and an assist for Killarney. Ty Moffat had two goals and an assist for the Royals. Ethan Winters scored a pair of third period goals as the Lakers downed Minnedosa 5-3. Tyler Jury had two helpers for the Bombers. Bryce Enns had a hat trick and Jory Mullin had two goals and five assists as the Clippers downed Carberry 8-2. Ethan Bjarnason and Keean McLaren replied for the Plainsmen. Patrick Sheldon had a goal and an assist as the Wild defeated Pilot Mound 7-1. Chase Desrochers had the lone goal for the Pilots.



In the Westman High School Hockey League – Dalton Ternovetsky scored the only goal of the shootout to lift Reston/Elkhorn/Melita/Pierson past Birtle/Shoal Lake/Rossburn 4-3 and Reed Houle had three goals and an assist as the Sandy Bay Badgers downed the Grand Plains Raiders 7-1.

 

The Westman Wildcats scored two goals in each period and defeated the Eastman Selects 6-1. Callie Rice had two goals and an assist for the Wildcats who also got goals from Kelsey Huibers, Hayley Kolosky, Sophia Anderson and Paige Kozak. Westman netminder Grace Glover made 36 saves.

 

The Virden Oil Capitals dropped a 3-2 decision to Dauphin. Garrett Hrechka scored the tying goal at 15:31 of the third period for the Kings and Nakodan Greyeyes potted the go-ahead goal on the power play 94 seconds later. Braden Fischer and Beau Larson did the goal scoring for the Oil Capitals who received a 30-save performance from Bailey Monteith.

 

The Winnipeg Ice gave up four first period goals and lost 7-2 to Saskatoon. Tristan Robbins had four helpers for the Blades. Skyler Bruce and Jack Finley replied for the Ice.

 

The Winnipeg Jets dropped a 3-2 decision to Boston. David Pastrnak’s power play goal 3:59 into the third period proved to be the winner. Jansen Harkins and Andrew Copp replied for the Jets who wrap up their eight-game road trip today against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

 

Evan Polei scored 78 seconds into overtime to lift the Manitoba Moose past the Chicago Wolves 4-3. Bobby Lynch had a pair of goals in regulation for the Moose. The other went to Thomas Caron. Manitoba netminder Evan Cormier made 36 saves.
