Healthy Brandon in motion and the Brandon Riverbank Inc. have announced their partnership for the First Annual Yoga Festival, slated for Saturday, June 25 at the Brandon Riverbank Festival Park grounds, come rain or shine!

Coordinator, Melanie Hellyer, is also Chair of Healthy Brandon in Motion, as well as Healthy Living Facilitator & Community Liaison for Health Promotion Prairie Mountain Health.

"Our vision is to help Brandon and area resident lead healthy and active lifestyles," she explains.  "We offer affordable options to be physically healthy in Brandon and we promote physical activity through education and social marketing.  So, we have a lot of great community partners on board on our committee and we work together to make this happen in Brandon!"

Hellyer encourages everyone 18+ to join them on June 25th at Festival Park for a variety of sessions - 'from Trauma Informed Yoga, Fascial Release for Yoga, Yoga for Back Pain, to the more familiar Hatha, Vinyassa, Restorative, Chair and Yoga Nidra – there really is something for everyone.'

"We hope folks who may not have considered yoga before for help with releasing trauma, and pain management for chronic health conditions will give it a try, as well as those who are dedicated yogis.  We have many well-known, local, very experienced yoga facilitators on board as well as from two from Winnipeg and Killarney."

Cost is $15 (early bird registration fee by May 30) or $20 after May 30 for the whole day.
