Winnipeg-based Paterson Grain has announced plans to build a new unit train loading facility near Daysland, Alberta.

The facility, which will be Paterson's third inland export terminal in Alberta, will have a storage capacity of over 55,000 metric tonnes.

The new facility will also feature a loop track system and a dual receiving area.

Grain deliveries are expected to begin in 2016.

Paterson GlobalFoods is one of Canada’s oldest family-owned agri-businesses.

The company, which was founded in 1908 by a Manitoba grain trader named Norman Paterson, now sells product to over 118 countries around the world.
