Agriculture in the Classroom Manitoba will be looking to expand much of its programming in the year ahead.

Executive Director Johanne Ross noted last year they were able to reach over 40,000 students and teachers.

She adds something new for the group was counting the amount of learning hours they spent in front of students.

"These are learning hours that we are directly in front of students talking to them about agriculture, and of course it's all curriculum linked what we deliver," she said. "When we went and counted all those learning hours, we were just amazed and stunned to see that it was 2.2 million direct learning hours with students over the last year. So that was pretty exciting to see."

Agriculture in the Classroom Manitoba visited almost 300 schools last year.

The organization held its Annual General Meeting last week at the Nott Auto and Art Gallery in Winnipeg.
