Producers are continuing to assess the crop damage caused from the storm that occurred over the long weekend.

Precipitation amounts varied anywhere from zero to 100 millimetres, while temperatures continued to dip below the freezing mark.

Pam de Rocquigny, cereal specialist with Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Development says it will take a few days to determine if crops will need to be reseeded.

"Patience is key at this point, allow three to five days for the crops to resume growth," she said. "We're looking for that new growth and if that happens that's great and if not we take a look at those plant stands and whether or not they'll create that yield potential that you're looking for."

In terms of seeding progress, the Central Region is the most advanced with 70 to 85 per cent complete, followed by the Eastern Region at 75 per cent.

The Southwest and Northwest Regions are at 70 per cent while the Interlake sits last at 55 to 65 per cent.
