The boards of Manitoba Corn Growers (MCGA) and the Manitoba Wheat and Barley Growers Association (MWBGA) have announced the hiring of Pam de Rocquigny as joint general manager for the two organizations.

"Pam has a great understanding of the important grower organization issues for each of our crops and we are looking forward to working with her and MWBGA to uncover new opportunities and efficiencies with this new arrangement," said Myron Krahn, chair of MCGA.

Both organizations anticipate future demands that may require them to work more collaboratively in order to provide maximum value back to grower members.

"Manitoba Wheat and Barley have intentionally operated with contract leadership until now in order to be able to seize an opportunity like this," said Fred Greig, chair of MWBGA. "We are very pleased to hire Pam and to break some new ground in collaboration among grower organizations."

De Rocquigny has 16 years of experience with Manitoba Agriculture, most recently as cereal crops specialist. She also farms near Haywood, Manitoba along with her husband and two boys.

"I have always had a belief that grower organizations play a very important role in supporting and sustaining profitability for producers," commented de Rocquigny. "I am excited to be part of building on that and to be working within this new and dynamic collaborative arrangement."

De Rocquigny will start her new role February 13th, in conjunction with the CropConnect conference in Winnipeg.
