Agricultural issues will be in the forefront of the election campaign on Wednesday.

The Canadian Federation of Agriculture is holding its National Ag Leader’s debate which is being webcast this year on their site.

Conservative MP and Federal Ag Minister Gerry Ritz says there’s been a tremendous amount of growth and recognition for the safety and security of Canada’s food supply

"It doesn't matter whether you talk to the health department, trade department, finance department, environmental department - we have a great story to tell when it comes to Canadian production," Ritz said.

Ritz says overall there’s a great story to tell about Canadian Agriculture adding there’s still a lot of work to be done in educating consumers about where their food comes from.
