Adults are the focus of this year's Canadian Agriculture Safety Week, happening March 12 - 18 across Canada.

Glen Blahey of the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association (CASA) says they're running a three year theme which is focusing on being part of an AgSafe Family.

He explains why adults need to be aware of the safety dangers on their farms.

"It's their farms, they're running them, they are ultimately responsible for what happens on that farm and so they have to look out for children if they're present on the farm. They have to be aware also of the issues that are impacting older people, fathers, grandfathers, that may be working on the farm with them."

Blahey notes adults also need to be aware of any potential safety issues that could affect people coming onto their farms.

Canadian Agricultural Safety Week is presented by the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association, the Canadian Federation of Agriculture and Farm Credit Canada.
