Politicians are hoping that farmers and ranchers across the country will be sitting at their computers on Wednesday to hear the national parties' views on agricultural issues. The Canadian Federation of Agriculture has organized an agricultural debate that will be webcast on their site from 10 a.m. to noon.

CFA president Ron Bonnett says there are a lot of issues to talk about.

"What we're trying to do is get a balance between having the parties present their positions, as well as answer some of the questions on issues we're facing and that could include issues around making their there's an adequate labour force for agriculture, managing the risks as we go forward, and the whole issue around trade and what that means for Canada," he says.

Ag minister Gerry Ritz will represent the Conseratives, ag critic Malcolm Allen will represent the NDP, Mark Eyking will represent the Liberals, and Bruce Hyer will speak on behalf of the Green Party.

You can pre-register  for the debate by logging onto the CFA website at www.cfa-fca.ca.
