We head to the polls October 27th, as municipal elections take place across the province. With a large number of council candidates running in several localities, some voters are indicating they'll only vote for a couple of people on the ballot, instead of choosing the maximum number they feel are best for the position.

Brandon University Political Science Professor Kelly Saunders is concerned about that, and says this kind of voting skews the results.

 

 

Saunders thinks many people believe municipal elections don't matter, but she points out it's at this level where we have the most day to day contact with government. That's why she recommends filling out your ballot fully.
